Take It In!
senior showcase

November 8- 25, 2004
opening reception: November 12, 2004
slide lecture: November 17, 2004

We believe that art nourishes the mind and soul. We have experienced its nourishing effects throughout our art education which, for most of us, culminates this semester. The senior class of Fall 2004 collaborates this November to exhibit artwork in a variety of media and invites you to Take It In: How Many Servings of Art Have You Had Today?

We hope, through this exhibition, to do some nourishing of a more physical sort as well. Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected at the opening reception on Friday, November 12th and throughout the show. These food donations will go to the St. Francis House of Columbia. They are in particular need of dry food items such as pasta and cereals as well as peanut butter. Refreshments will be served at the opening reception.

In conjunction with the exhibition, selected artists will be holding a slide lecture of their work. This is a fund raising event for The Corner at Field Park, the North Central Columbia Neighborhood Community Center. We ask for a cash donation at the door, which will go directly to this facility.

This exhibition will be held from Monday November 8, 2004 to Thursday November 25, 2004. A mid-exhibition public reception will be held in the gallery on Friday, November 12, 2004 from 4:00-6:00 pm. A slide lecture will be Wednesday, November 17th, from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Faculty Alumni Lounge, S304 Memorial Union.
