New Faculty Exhibition: Matthew Ballou/Chris Dannigelis/Daniel Farnum/John Murdock/Katherine Johnson

Matthew Ballou
Originally from upstate New York, Matthew Ballou is a painter and writer who has lived in the Chicago area since 1999. He is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Painting and Drawing at the University of Missouri Columbia. His paintings were recently exhibited at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska and his last published essay was Second Horizon: The Changing Vision of Odd Nerdrum, which was the featured article in Image Journal during the summer of 2006. A 2001 recipient of a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Ballou earned his MFA from Indiana University Bloomington in 2005.

Daniel Farnum
Daniel Farnum’s work has been exhibited at Focus Gallery, Diego Rivera Gallery, Photo SF, and the Emerging Bay Area Artists exhibitions in San Francisco. He has also shown work in Michigan galleries as well as through the Humble Arts Foundation in New York. Daniel was selected to participate in Review Santa Fe in 2006 and has received two awards from the Paul Sack Architectural Photography Contest. He recently received a professional award from the Visions exhibition, which was juried by Keith Davis, curator of the Photography department at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Daniel earned his BFA from the University of Michigan and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Website: www.danielfarnum.com

John B. Murdock
John holds a Bachelor of General Studies with emphasis in Psychology from the University of Missouri, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Arizona State University. He is currently finalizing his Master of Science in Design degree from Arizona State University, where he taught Visual Communication Design. John worked 19 years as President and Artistic Director of Murdock Group, Inc., a visual communication design firm based in Tempe Arizona. His other pursuits include landscape painting, musical performance, and lost wax casting.
