"In fact,we are much better off if we bring it all with us..." February 10 - February 24, 2005 In a world where goldfish live both in freshwater and the supermarket aisle, love resides somewhere between the heart and our thoughts, but Suicidal Tendencies is more a rock band than a feeling. Are our thoughts our own? What and how much are we really holding onto? Should we leave it all behind? Or should we bring it all with us to Planet Genesis and beyond………… An art exhibition by Visiting Faculty members of the Art Department of the University of Missouri-Columbia, that raises questions concerning identity in the face of media saturation, the (mis)use of technology and visualization and the effects of conspicuous consumption. Visiting Faculty members exhibiting are: Mark Langeneckert, Sarah McCourt, Sabine Gruffat and Rollin Beamish. This exhibition will be on display in the George Caleb Bingham Gallery from February 10, 2005, to February 24, 2005. A public reception will be held in the gallery on Thursday, February 10, 2005, from 4:00-6:00 pm. Click on each image on the right to see a larger one. |
